Ashwin Datt

I am the owner and clinical physical therapist. I graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in human movement studies in 2003. I then continued on to the University of the Pacific where I finished my doctoral degree in physical therapy in 2007. My focus is outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, specializing in the treatment of a wide variety of injuries and surgeries. I have extensive and ongoing training in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise. I have my certification in Integrated Manual Therapy (CIMT) with Great Lake Seminars and Functional Manual Reaction (FMR) through the Gray Institute. I have done a long residency to become Fellows of Applied Functional Science (FAFS). I am a golf professional specialist through the Gray Institute® and Nike Golf®. I am also a Certified Clinical Instructor for the American Physical Therapy Association. I have a passion to help people feel better and become more active.

Jaqueline Ovard
PT, DPT, CIMT
Jaqueline graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences. She then continued to Northern Arizona University where she received her Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. She has since completed a certification in Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute and is a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist through Great Lakes Seminars. Jaqueline is a native to Minden and worked as an aide at Great Basin before she left for physical therapy school. She enjoys running, swimming, snowboarding and hiking in her spare time. Jaqueline is passionate about helping patients improve their mobility and function and achieve their goals.
Monica Datt
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Monica went back to school to receive her Physical Therapy Assistant degree after 10 years of working in acute care facilities as a Medical Imaging Technologist. Monica enjoys being part of a team involved in getting our community healthy, but felt she wanted to focus her career on improving people’s quality of life rather than just prolonging length of life. With her degree as a PTA, her goal is to help return people to a life they are passionate about.

JESSICA
Physical Therapy Assistant
Jessica — who goes by Jess — is a Lake Tahoe native who graduated from Whittell High School in 2007. She attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where she graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and also played Division I volleyball on a full-ride scholarship. She then went on to achieve her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Concorde Career College in San Diego, California. Jess is now a licensed PT Assistant in the state of California and Nevada and is thrilled to be a part of the Great Basin Physical Therapy family. She loves being able to give back to this incredible community and is happy she can help make a difference in people's lives.

Colleen Clanton
Office Manager/ Front Receptionist
Colleen is our receptionist at Great Basin and am always willing to help. She is a battle born native raised in the Carson Valley, as well as a proud alumni of Douglas High School, graduating year of 2013. She now lives near Topaz Lake where you’ll find her outdoors every weekend. Whether it’s camping, wakeboarding, or even riding dirt bikes, she will always be doing something with her family and friends. In the winter she loves to hit the slopes on her snowboard, enjoying our beautiful mountain scenery. If you have any questions about GBPT I will be happy to answer your phone call.

Kaiser
Golden Retriever
Kaiser is our resident therapy dog who will be happy to greet you at the door. Give her a pet and she’ll treat you like part of our family.

DASH
Golden Retriever
Dash is another of our resident therapy dogs who will be happy to greet you.Give Dash a pet in exchange for a dog-smile, a vigorous tail-wag and maybe a sloppy kiss. Watch out for those puppy-eyes! Dash's skill for making you all gooey-happy is legendary.

PIPER
German Shorthair
Piper is our third resident therapy dog who will be happy to take a message when you call or drop by — now if we could just read her "dog paw" writing, we'd be all set. She also loves sitting on the reception chair and borrowing reading glasses so she can read all that tiny type on the screen. She might well be the smartest office dog in the county!
